OUR STORY

Generadora Fénix was created in 2015 as the result of a strategic partnership between Mota-Engil, a Portuguese company, and the Mexican Electrical Workers Union (SME), proudly making it the first private company to participate in the opening of the electricity market in Mexico.

This partnership was forged to leverage the new panorama within the Mexican electricity market as a result of the implementation of the Energy Reform. Mota-Engil offers its global experience, technological and financial capacity, social vision and strong focus on Latin America, while the Mexican Electrical Workers Union (SME) is a human capital partner with wide-ranging know-how and technical capacity.

LOCATIONS

We have 5 hydroelectric plants in operation with a wide-ranging production capacity.

Our plants are strategically located in the center of the country, specifically in Mexico City, the State of Mexico, Michoacán and Puebla, helping ensure we hold an extremely competitive position.
